I'm getting some unexpected behavior with cross attribute matching. I'm trying to match the records in the attached image. The record on the left is in the matchgrid. I'm creating a rule to get a match for the record on the right.My rule has * an exact match on last name (required)

• exact match on preferred first name
• exact match preferred first name cross check first name

I'm getting a new ref ID assigned when I enter the record. Ideas about what is going on?
