CO Admins across several groups who have been using Registry for years did not know the top search was there. This is due to both the subtlety of the search icon and its proximity to the user information.

Place the search to the upper left (not right) next to the hamburger menu, and open it up so that the search input and button is always visible. This improves discoverability and accessibility.
